
A graduate of the Journalism and Communication School of Aix-Marseille, David Fabrega is a Franco-Canadian filmmaker and cultural mediator based in Occitania, France. Since 2010, his cinematographic projects have led him to travel to all continents. He produces and directs documentary films for movie theatres, television and digital platforms, with a special focus on human migrations and their positive impact to the evolution of contemporary societies. An affiliated partner of the pass Culture, David Fabrega also gives film conferences and workshops in schools as a trainer in media and information education.
His first film, Biodiversity: an odyssey, is recommended by the United Nations and has been released on television at TV5 Monde and Science & Vie TV. His feature film about the return of the Cuban diaspora, Return to Cuba, is available worldwide on Amazon Prime Video since 2017. His short documentary directed in Vietnam, Little Big Leaf, is broadcast at the CBC, Canadian first TV channel. His docufiction on immigrant painter, Toro, is supported by a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts and available in 2021 at the prestigious streaming platform Arts.film. 2024 is equally a prolific year with the production of a first film with puppets, The Green Snake, supported by the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec.
